tldr: out of 29 cafes, my top 3 are vohuman cafe (best breakfast, rs 200 for two), pagdandi (best for working, baner), and cafe madeline (best aesthetic, koregaon park). spent around rs 45k across all 29 over 3 months. full reviews with prices, wifi, and honest opinions below.
so yea. i visited 29 cafes in pune.
not for some brand deal or instagram reel. i just like cafes. i’ve always been the kind of person who says yes to any cafe, bar, pub. not to show off, just for the experience.
most of these visits were solo. that’s kind of my thing, cafes, headphones on, laptop open, pretending to be productive while actually people-watching.
some visits were with friends, some were work calls, some were just me needing to get out of the house before i lose it.
here’s how i rated them: vibes, food, coffee, wifi, price. each out of 10. no sponsorships, no one paid me, this is just what i think.
i categorised all 29 by what they’re actually good for. because “best cafe in pune” means nothing if you don’t know what you’re looking for. if you’re specifically looking for cafes to work from, i’ve got a dedicated guide for that too.
the awards (my personal picks)

work cafes (laptop, wifi, long sits)
these are the ones where you can park yourself for 4-5 hours, get actual work done, and nobody gives you the look. half my marketing calls have happened from these tables. for the full deep-dive on work cafes, read my dedicated work cafe guide with wifi speeds and socket counts. and if a cafe isn’t structured enough, check out pune’s coworking spaces. if you split time between cities, i’ve also covered work cafes in mumbai and bangalore.
1. pagdandi books chai cafe
baner / rs 400 for two / wifi: yes / 9.5/10

my #1. a bookstore-cafe run by a backpacker couple. the book collection is insane, including indie publishers. they have board games, a zine section, and the chai is perfect.
the kashmiri kawa alone is worth the trip. they host poetry slams and jam sessions. wifi is solid. you can sit for 5 hours and nobody will look at you weird.

7. the sassy spoon
koregaon park / rs 1800 for two / wifi: yes / 8.5/10

there’s a literal pink vintage car at the entrance. that should tell you everything about the vibe. brick walls, hydrangeas, low-hanging lights. the food is solid european with some asian twists.

camp / rs 200 for two / wifi: no / 9/10
