tldr: my top 3 brunch spots: the flour works (best food, kalyani nagar, rs 1400 for two), vohuman cafe (best value, camp, rs 200 for two), and cafe madeline (best vibe, koregaon park, rs 1300 for two). i do brunch almost every weekend. here’s where.

i’m a brunch person. unapologetically.

there’s something about waking up on a saturday with zero plans and deciding to go eat pancakes at 11am that feels like peak adulthood. no meetings. no deadlines. just a table, good coffee, and food that’s too expensive for a weekday.

pune’s brunch scene has gotten genuinely good. five years ago your options were german bakery or nothing. now you’ve got european bistros, all-day cafes, irani breakfast spots that have been doing brunch before brunch was a word.

i’ve been doing saturday brunch at different places for months. here’s what’s actually worth your time and money.

the best of brunch

1. the flour works

kalyani nagar / rs 1400 for two / 9/10

my go-to weekend brunch spot. the ricotta pancakes are the best pancakes i’ve had in india. not “good for pune” good. actually the best. fluffy, slightly tangy from the ricotta, served with berries and maple syrup.

the eggs benedict is perfectly poached. the waffles are crispy outside, soft inside. the coffee is good. the staff recognizes me now which is either heartwarming or embarrassing.

they open at 7am which means you can get an early brunch without the crowd. by 10am on weekends it’s full. book a table or go early.

i wrote about this in my cafes guide and restaurant guide too. it keeps showing up because it’s that good.

what to order: ricotta pancakes, eggs benedict, fresh orange juice verdict: best brunch in pune. the pancakes alone are worth waking up for.

2. vohuman cafe

camp / rs 200 for two / 9/10

vohuman doesn’t do “brunch.” vohuman does breakfast. the same breakfast it’s been doing for decades. double cheese omelette, bun maska, irani chai. that’s it.

but it’s the best breakfast in pune. the omelette is thick, cheesy, perfectly cooked on a flat griddle. the bun maska has that specific irani cafe butter ratio that no other city replicates. the chai is strong and sweet.

rs 100 per person. you’re done in 20 minutes. no lingering over laptops. eat and go. that’s the vohuman way.

what to order: double cheese omelette, bun maska, irani chai verdict: best budget breakfast in pune. rs 100 for a meal that makes you question why brunch costs rs 1500 anywhere else.

3. cafe madeline

koregaon park / rs 1300 for two / 8.5/10

if your brunch aesthetic matters as much as your brunch food, madeline is the answer. parisian pink walls, floral ceilings, french pastries in a glass case. the croissants are buttery and flaky.

the avocado toast is well-done. the french toast is indulgent. the dessert section is where madeline really shines. over 25 varieties of pastries and cakes.

yes, you’re paying for the vibe. but the food backs it up. date brunch at madeline is a punt-winning move.

what to order: almond croissant, french toast, cafe latte verdict: best looking brunch spot in pune. the food matches the aesthetics.

4. le plaisir

deccan / rs 1800 for two / 8.5/10

the chef here trained at le cordon bleu and it shows. the eggs benedict has a hollandaise that’s textbook perfect. the avocado toast is elevated, not just smashed avocado on bread. the desserts are pastry-chef level.

the portions are small for the price. that’s my only complaint. you might need to order an extra dish. the monochrome interiors are elegant. it’s the most “european” brunch experience in pune.

what to order: eggs benedict, croque monsieur, opera cake verdict: most technically perfect brunch in pune. small portions, big flavors.

5. cafe goodluck

fc road / rs 400 for two / 8.5/10

since 1935. the bun maska and irani chai have been the same for ninety years. the kheema pav at 9am is a power move. the caramel custard is a classic.

goodluck is not brunch in the instagram sense. it’s breakfast in the old-pune sense. marble tables, ceiling fans, newspaper racks. this is where professors from fergusson have been eating since before independence.

what to order: kheema pav, bun maska, irani chai, caramel custard verdict: pune’s original breakfast spot. not trendy, just timeless.

6. german bakery

koregaon park / rs 500 for two / 8/10

the german bakery has been a pune institution since the 80s. the bakery items are solid. the cinnamon rolls, the brown bread, the quiche. the outdoor seating in the morning is peaceful before the kp crowd wakes up.

it’s not flashy. the menu hasn’t changed much. but there’s a comfort in that consistency. a morning here with a book and a quiche is one of pune’s simple pleasures.

what to order: quiche, cinnamon roll, masala chai verdict: pune’s classic brunch spot. consistent, comfortable, no surprises.

7. arthur’s theme

koregaon park / rs 1200 for two / 8/10

the garden seating here is why people come. eating brunch under trees, surrounded by greenery, in the middle of koregaon park. the food is good, not great. but the setting elevates everything.

the continental breakfast platter is the safe choice. the pancakes are decent. the coffee is average. come for the vibe, not the culinary innovation.

what to order: continental breakfast platter, fresh juice, eggs any style verdict: best outdoor brunch setting in pune. the garden does the heavy lifting.

8. the daily all day

koregaon park / rs 2000 for two / 8/10

the upscale option. the weekend brunch with a wine pairing is pune’s closest thing to a mumbai brunch experience. the food is refined, the portions are appropriate, the wine selection is excellent.

it’s expensive. but if you want a grown-up brunch without the college crowd, the daily delivers.

what to order: eggs florentine, wine flight, avocado toast verdict: most upscale brunch in pune. bring your adult money.

good but not great

9. grandmama’s cafe

koregaon park / rs 1400 for two / 7.5/10

great for groups. the menu is big, everyone finds something. the portions are generous. the vibe is cozy. but the food is safe. nothing here will blow your mind, everything is reliably okay.

verdict: best group brunch option. when you need to please 6 different palates.

10. cafe peter

viman nagar / rs 900 for two / 7/10

korean-indian-japanese fusion for brunch is a wild concept. the korean egg toast works. the matcha pancakes work. some things don’t work. it’s hit or miss but the hits are interesting.

verdict: adventurous brunch option. for when you’re bored of eggs benedict.

11. dario’s

koregaon park / rs 1600 for two / 7/10

italian brunch. the pasta is good but do you really want pasta for brunch? the pizza is better. the tiramisu is excellent. it’s a restaurant pretending to be a brunch spot.

verdict: come for dinner, not brunch. unless you want pizza for breakfast. no judgment.

12. cafe zoe

baner / rs 1000 for two / 7/10

baner’s brunch option. modern interiors, decent food, good coffee. nothing exceptional but fills the gap in baner where brunch options are limited.

verdict: best brunch in baner. not a high bar, but it clears it.

my ideal pune brunch weekend

saturday: the flour works at 8am. ricotta pancakes, eggs benedict, two coffees. out by 9:30am. rs 1400 for two. worth waking up for.

sunday: vohuman cafe at 9am. double cheese omelette, bun maska, chai. in and out by 9:30am. rs 200 for two. then walk around camp feeling full and happy.

that’s the pune brunch spectrum. rs 200 to rs 1800. both are perfect in their own way.
