tl;dr: bira 91 price in india for white, blonde, IPA, strong, boom, and light. 330ml and 500ml prices across states, seasonal releases, and which variant gives you the best value.

tldr: bira 91 white 330ml costs rs 100-150, blonde is rs 90-140, IPA is rs 110-160, and the mass-market boom is rs 70-110. bira is the most expensive mainstream beer brand in india, costing roughly 2x per ml compared to kingfisher. the white ale is worth the premium. everything else in the lineup requires more thought. bira white 330ml can is the must-buy. boom and strong exist for the mass market but lose the craft identity. goa prices are rs 15-25 cheaper per can across the board.

bira 91 is the one beer brand in india where pricing genuinely matters because the range is massive. the same brand sells a boom strong at rs 70 and an IPA at rs 160. that’s more than a 2x difference within the same lineup. and unlike kingfisher or tuborg where every variant is just a different ABV of the same basic lager, bira’s variants are genuinely different beers. a bira white and a bira boom taste nothing alike. they barely feel like the same brand.

i’ve been drinking bira since it first showed up in delhi shops, and the white ale remains one of my favorite beers in india. but i’ve also watched the brand expand into mass-market territory with strong beers and flavored variants that have nothing to do with the craft identity that made bira interesting. the pricing reflects this split personality: craft variants cost a lot, commercial variants are priced to compete with kingfisher strong.

this guide breaks down every variant, what each costs, and where to find the best prices.

bira 91 was founded by ankur jain with the mission to change how india drinks beer. it launched with two variants (white and blonde) in 2015 and has since expanded to six+ variants plus seasonal releases. the brand is venture-capital backed, has multiple breweries across india, and competes with both craft and commercial segments. for my detailed review of every variant, see bira 91 review.

the price gap between bira’s craft variants and commercial variants is significant. a bira white 330ml at rs 130 costs nearly double a bira boom 330ml at rs 70. this reflects the dual identity of the brand: the white, blonde, and IPA are premium products. strong and boom are volume plays. you need to know which you’re buying and why.

bira 91 price by state (2026)

here’s what bira 91 white 330ml (the benchmark variant) costs across major states. other variants follow the same state-wise pattern with the price differences noted above.

statewhite 330mlblonde 330mlboom 330mlnotes
goars 85-115rs 75-105rs 55-85cheapest state

keralars 115-150rs 105-140rs 80-110beverages corporation

bangalore note: karnataka, especially bangalore, is bira 91’s strongest market. the brand has the widest variant availability here, including seasonal releases that other cities don’t get. if you want the full bira experience, bangalore is the place.

availability reality: unlike kingfisher which is available at literally every liquor shop, bira 91 availability in smaller towns and tier-2 cities is spotty. you’ll always find it in metros. in smaller cities, you might only find boom and strong, not the craft variants. call ahead or check before making a trip.

prohibition note: bira 91 is not available in bihar (prohibition since 2016) and gujarat.

the value equation: bira 91 vs everyone else

this is the critical question. is bira 91 worth the price premium over commercial lagers?

price per ml comparison (330ml can)

beer330ml priceprice per 100mlABV
kingfisher premium 330mlrs 50-80rs 15-244.8%
tuborg green 330mlrs 50-80rs 15-244.8%
budweiser 330mlrs 70-100rs 21-305%
bira boom 330mlrs 70-110rs 21-337-8%
bira blonde 330mlrs 90-140rs 27-424.5%
bira white 330mlrs 100-150rs 30-454.7%
bira IPA 330mlrs 110-160rs 33-486.5%

the numbers don’t lie. bira white costs roughly 2x per ml compared to kingfisher premium. for 650ml of kingfisher premium (rs 90-160), you can get one 330ml bira white (rs 100-150). half the volume for the same money.

but here’s the counterargument: bira white is a genuinely better beer. it’s not twice as good, no beer is twice as good as another beer. but it’s different, it’s flavorful, and it gives you a drinking experience that no kingfisher or tuborg variant can match. if you value flavor over volume, bira white is worth it. if you value volume over flavor, stick with kingfisher.

for the full head-to-head breakdown, see bira 91 vs kingfisher.

bira 91 seasonal and limited releases

one of bira 91’s strengths is its seasonal release calendar. throughout the year, the brand drops limited edition variants that are only available for 2-3 months. these have included:

mango lassi wheat ale was a summer release that combined bira’s wheat ale base with mango and cardamom flavors. it was divisive. some loved the creativity, others found it too sweet. pricing was rs 130-180 for 330ml.

imagined in india IPA was a hopped-up version of the standard IPA with more citrus and tropical hop character. it was better than the core IPA and showed what bira can do when they push the craft boundaries. limited to select cities.

collaboration brews with indian craft breweries have appeared periodically, usually available only in bangalore and delhi. these are one-off batches that sell out quickly.

seasonal releases are priced rs 130-200 for 330ml cans and are only available at select liquor shops in major metros. follow bira on instagram for announcements. if you spot one, buy it. they disappear fast.

where to buy bira 91

metro city liquor shops are your best bet. most well-stocked shops in delhi, mumbai, bangalore, pune, hyderabad, and kolkata carry at least white, blonde, and boom. IPA and light availability is less consistent.

bars and restaurants in metros commonly stock bira white and blonde. premium bars may have the IPA. dive bars and budget restaurants rarely carry bira.

supermarkets in goa, delhi, and parts of karnataka sell bira alongside other beers. convenient for multi-brand shopping.

online ordering through apps like swiggy instamart and blinkit (where alcohol delivery is legal) sometimes carries bira. availability is inconsistent but worth checking.

small towns and tier-2 cities: bira boom and strong are expanding into these markets, but the craft variants (white, blonde, IPA) are mostly metro-only. don’t expect to find bira white at a liquor shop in a small town.

buying tips for best prices

buy in goa if you’re visiting. prices are rs 15-25 cheaper per can, and the savings add up if you’re buying a case. a case of bira white in goa costs roughly rs 1000-1400, compared to rs 1200-1800 in maharashtra.

buy 500ml cans instead of two 330ml cans. a 500ml bira white at rs 170-250 is better value than two 330ml cans at rs 200-300 total. the per-ml cost drops by 15-20%.

try boom first if you’re budget-conscious and just want to see what bira is about. at rs 70-110 for 330ml, it’s affordable. but know that boom doesn’t represent what bira actually stands for. the white ale is the real product.

bar happy hours often include bira at reduced prices. some bars in bangalore and delhi offer bira white pints for rs 200-300 during happy hour, which is only marginally more than buying cans at retail. worth checking.
